Staff Systems Architect – Customer Experience
The ideal candidate will possess strong system-level analytical skills and an excellent understanding of methodologies and tools used to monitor and measure system performance. This role requires good resource management skills to balance progress on multiple projects. You will have the opportunity to solve real world customer problems, learn a wide variety of new technologies, and to gain a detailed understanding of the internals of industrial strength data warehouse and analytics data solutions. To be successful, you should be a self-starter who has the ability to quickly learn new technologies and dig deep into technical issues. If you have a desire to work on the cutting edge of technology, face challenging problems, and work with smart people then this is the position for you.
What you get to do in this role:
Solution Architect
Build upon your understanding of system-level performance and enterprise systems and distributed architectures to help guide customers into appropriate platform installations that will address their business requirements.
Customer Rollout
Support the rollout of new platforms and proof-of-concept systems to our customers by executing test plans on targeted initial customer installations and analyzing test results.
Performance Analysis
Build upon your analytical skills to understand how to monitor and measure system performance across multiple subsystems (CPU, memory, storage, networks, etc.)
Develop your analytical trouble shooting skills to help identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in order to identify the root cause of an issue and to suggest how to resolve it
Database Development, Administration, and Operations (DevOps)
Expand your fluency in a number of cross-disciplinary technologies including databases, OS, networking, software, and test automation
Create SQL test scripts and perform database administration
Teamwork
Be a self-starter with a quick learning curve on different technologies and processes
Work with cross-functional teams, help build consensus on issues, and help drive projects to completion
Be a team player who can quickly find common ground and work together to solve problems for the good of all

This position is based in Teradata's research and development main campus in San Diego, CA. Teradata's employees enjoy beautiful facilities including a cafeteria, cafe, and gym on site.
