Database Security Administrator

External Description:

A Database Security Administrator supports security solutions.

He/She is familiar with all aspects of security and privacy in data and applications, including access security, best practices for securing data access by applications (e.g. using semantic layer views as opposed to a user query accessing a table directly), global differences in privacy best practices or standards, security of off-line data (backups and archives), OS hardening, and options and alternatives to implementing different "levels" or requirements for privacy and security.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

 

• Establish and audit a security policy for the client’s Ecosystem Architecture – which may include Teradata, Hadoop, related open source software, operating systems, and Teradata Applications.
• Define client requirements related to security and privacy.
• Support the basic security components of Teradata, Oracle, PostgreSQL, GreenPlum and Linux.
• Conduct system security audits and identify gaps.
• Educate customers on security and privacy issues, best practices, and Teradata, Hadoop, operating systems, and Teradata Application security features.

 

Skills

 

• Proficiency in data security standards.
• Proficiency in several of : Teradata, Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL, GreenPlum related open source software, Linux operating systems features used to implement data access security and intrusion detection.
• Proficient in hardening techniques for the network and operating system.
• Database Administrator or Developer expertise in one or more of the following database technologies: Teradata, Oracle, SQL SERVER, etc. 
• Linux/UNIX administration and shell scripting knowledge (at least basic)
• In depth knowledge of operations management and control.
• Fluent Russian and elementary English.
• Proficiency in Protegrity and other security products used to protect data is an advantage.
• Understanding of the Teradata Reference Information Architecture is an advantage.
