Teradata (NYSE: TDC), the world's leading data analytics company is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineering Manager who is passionate about enabling and accelerating engineering teams by building innovative services that transform the way engineering teams work.  As we seek to build the best data management and analytics systems in the world we know we need to provide engineering teams with the processes and tooling needed to efficiently develop, test, and release Vantage, the next generation Cloud-based data platform that is optimized for cost and performance, while providing elastic compute and storage to process, store, transfer, and protect data great products.  This is your opportunity to be part of the team that’s empowering engineering teams to work smarter. As part of our product engineering organization, you’ll build, own and manage an engineering team and lead them to build various developer enablement services and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and lead an engineering team with an execution focus
  • Lead day-to-day direction of CI/CD Engineering Team in development and operations of services that provide CI/CD and DevOps enabling services to Teradata Product Engineering teams
  • Collaborate with leadership and peers to define long term strategy delivery process and feature roadmaps
  • Provide technical guidance to a team of engineers, including ability to dive into the details as needed
  • Provide regular reports on progress, issues, and team performance
  • Communicate effectively with other engineering team, QA, PMs and members of the leadership team
  • Manage feature roadmaps and progress for features owned by team
  • Strong technical and people leadership skills

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CI/CD and DevOps principals and practices and their implementation
  • Expertise in leading teams using Agile Software Development methodologies
  • 4+ years of hands-on software development experience
  • Demonstratable proficiency in at least one modern general-purpose programing language (like Python, Java, Node.js, or Go)
  • Experience working with automated deployments and source code/configuration management tools (such as GitHub, AWS CloudFormation, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Vagrant, Terraform, and similar)
  • Must be able to work cross-functionally with other internal and external partner teams and organizations
  • Deep passion for quality and customer focus
  • Proven experience building service on at least one of the primary public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required.
  • Agile Scrum Master and or Product Owner experience and certification
  • Pervasive knowledge of many CI/CD tooling systems and understanding of the tooling options both proprietary and open source software
  • Experience with Docker container related technologies like Kubernetes, Mesos, etc..
