Summary Description: 
The IT Strategy Lead will be responsible for several key areas across the Information Technology, Analytics and Security organization (ITAS).

  • ITAS strategy & multi-year roadmaps
  • Define and implement a workforce/resource strategy
  • PR/PO Processes

 

This will require refinement and focused execution of all related processes, procedures, and governance required to operate successfully in a global environment. Additionally, candidate will be required to build relationships across the organization to ensure operations, project delivery and strategies are aligned with Teradata business needs and direction.  Candidate should possess superior analytical, communication and collaboration skills with an ability to engage at all levels of the global organization.



Essential Functions: 

  • Lead the definition and delivery of an ITAS strategy & multi-year roadmaps
    • Including alignment with Product processes (for product security)
    • Alignment with dependent strategic workstreams (e.g. future of work)
    • Clear articulation of the why/benefit in balance with the what (deliverables & cost)
    • Track progress vs funded items; conduct update of Roadmaps ~2x per year
    • In alignment with ITAS overall budget goals
  • Define and implement a workforce/resource strategy
    • Effective balance of fixed vs variable; core (critical internal skills) vs context
    • Optimize number of vendors while providing needed technical expertise and ability to ramp up / ramp down
    • Evaluating and defining correct model across Run, Change and Innovate work types
    • Establishing accountability model for day to day engagement vs strategic alignment & continuous improvement
    • Establishing metrics to continuously assess effectiveness & efficiency of the selected vendors
  • Establish effective PR/PO processes to enable greater visibility to spend and spend improvement opportunities, working closely with biz ops portion of OCIO team
    • Fold cost savings opportunities into multi-year roadmaps 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 15+ years of related experience with a university degree in Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, Busines Administration or equivalent required; or 12+ years and an advanced degree; or a PhD with 8+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience
  • Experience in establishing / managing / optimizing IT strategy, roadmaps as input to portfolio management in collaboration with other Teradata leaders
  • Experience in developing / managing / optimizing workforce strategy (e.g. outsourced partner engagement)
  • Familiarity with departmental budget (e.g. planning/forecast/actual) management and IT purchasing
  • Familiarity with diverse systems landscapes and integration needs (i.e. CRM, ERP, BI, HCM, Cloud based Infrastructure, End-User/Productivity solutions, etc.)
  • Project / Program Management experience with proven track record of delivering on-time, on-budget and achieving business objectives
  • Seen as a change agent and leader in the company  
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships across Teradata business units and geographies and include multiple constituents
  • Ability to consider upstream and downstream process impacts and implications  
  • High level understanding of “end to end” global business processes & sub-processes  
  • Exhibits acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges  
  • Versatility and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm  
  • Previous experience/familiarity with programs and / or department budget financial management
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Experience applying data & metrics to drive change in a global organization
  • Executive presence, strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Experience collaborating with and supporting business leaders within a large corporate environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and manage the expectations of stakeholders, team members, management and external partners
  • Passion to lead change and optimize business process, business data, financials through the use of key performance indicators 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in MIS, MBA or related disciplines is preferred
  • PMP Certification is preferred
