Staff Software Engineer
Location: San Diego, San Francisco, or Seattle (remote to begin)

Teradata is looking for a  highly motivated and innovative candidate to join our team developing software that provides Telemetry and Advanced Analytics for our Vantage platform.  Applications include system sizing and optimization, elastic billing, troubleshooting, competitive analysis and Customer Success.  It is critical that our software is secure, highly available and scalable. 

Responsibilities

  • Full spectrum software development activities – conceptualize, design, develop, implement, improve, test and support code written in Java, Python, and Go.
  • Implement multi-system and multi-tenant cloud-based services with supporting CI/CD and deployment automation into various platforms including Google Cloud, Azure, AWS, VMWare, and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Design, develop, support and utilize APIs and otherwise integrate with provider services, applications and infrastructure tools to support collection and analysis of Telemetry data from Teradata systems.
  • Work effectively as part of a distributed, collaborative and cross-functional team in a flexible, fast-paced work environment

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience in Software Development
  • Extensive experience in software development with Java, Python, or Go
  • Experience with API-first, Cloud-native microservice development and secure coding practices
  • Experience with test development, e.g. unit/functional test automation, end-to-end testing and test-driven-development
  • Knowledge of Databases, including RDBMS/SQL
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing environments and deployments

Additional Beneficial/Desired Skills

  • Experience working with Teradata products
  • Experience developing or working with Cloud software data collection and analysis tools
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML tools e.g. R, Python, Jupyter, Sagemaker
  • Experience with software resource and performance optimization/tuning for Cloud environments
