Position Title: Senior Manager, Managed Services

External Description:

Role: Senior Practice Manager, Managed Services – Cloud Operations (GDC)

Location - Mumbai/ Pune 

The GDC MS SPM role is aligned to Capability building, accountable for Project Delivery, Practice Management within Practice along with APL and TDM. Creating of tools & templates which helps delivery improves efficiency and quality. Executing HR and GDC objectives. Role requires to closely work with TDM for project delivery and Practice team to support driving pre-sales / sales activity. 

Core Skills: 

  • Should have experience working with any of the following
  • Database – Teradata
  • ETL & BI tools - Informatica / DataStage / Ab-Initio / Cognos / MicroStrategy / Business Objects
  • Open Source - Cloudera / Hortonworks
  • Cloud - AWS / Azure / Google / Intellicloud platform
  • Specifics to Cloud skills, should have -
  • Experience on Compute, Storage (Block and EBS), Network, Security, Scalability and Native cloud applications
  • Experience on at least one Infrastructure as a Code tool (Ansible/Terraform)
  • Good understanding of IaaS and PaaS
  • Able to drive Proof of concepts on the cloud platform across AWS/Google and Azure platform
  • Should be well versed and strong on presales support
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Able to drive best practices on the Cloud Platform
  • Well versed with cost controls & working on cloud
  • Should have good people management skills
  • Should have good Presentation and Communication skills
  • Should have exposure to Pre-sales activities
  • Ensure project is being administered in accordance with the SOW, PnL and SLA
  • Should be well versed to pro-actively identify service delivery risks and create mitigation plan
  • Production deliverables should be achieved utilizing standardized best practices
  • Project reporting, project reviews and audits are conducted as specified
  • Should have knowledge of ITIL framework

  • Build capability within practice by conducting workshops on tools, automation and MS processes like CMP, SDA, others
  • Build Cloud specific Technical capabilities based on GDC MS Capability framework and Practice evolving requirements
  • Drive Continuous Practice Efficiency – Knowledge/Re-usable Assets, Skill Development, Team Capability Enhancement, Delivery Efficiencies, Adoption of new tools/technologies
  • Ensures new knowledge is encapsulated in the form of best practices, processes and tools.
  • Ensuring resources are trained to utilize established methodologies, tools and best practices and in the resource development role, provide the leadership required to continuously improve these assets through encapsulation of field-based experience
  • Responsible for the development of core knowledge and capabilities for Infrastructure/Operational
  • Integration/Synergy of Practice Operations across various locations
  • Contribute to Pre-Sales activity
  • Work with Teradata/GDC Support Groups – Biz. Ops, Resource Management, Training, HR & Staffing, CRE, F&A etc.
  • Direct reporting manager for resources within practice group, and recommends promotions, merits, and required HR action
  • Administers performance improvement plans when required for resources
  • Participates in recruiting, interview and resource selection including people development, training & certification
  • Assembles project delivery teams, appoints team leaders, balancing mix and skills sets of associates to meet project
  • Ensure the smooth ongoing project execution of the production engagement phase through the maintenance of regular status meetings and reports, and by soliciting continuous feedback from MS LT and Customer
  • Reviewing the SOW contracts, suggesting the changes as appropriate and giving the feedback to Teradata Account team and Managed Services Pre-sales and Customer
  • Implementing and maintaining CMP & SDA on respective projects using Team leads. Participate in CMP & SDA reviews/Audits
  • Track roadmaps and check for improvements
  • Weekly tracking of recommendations & report for performance reports
  • SDA to be tracked on a weekly basis
  • Escalate to higher stakeholders in timely manner
  • Responsible for team operational schedules, hours of coverage, on call, etc.
  • Ensure weekly, monthly and quarterly deliverables are achieved and reviews all customer roadmaps to ensure both tactical and strategic impact can be achieved
  • Monitor the performance of the on-site and offsite resources from the GDC, through proactive project management, issue escalation and reporting
  • Review the work deliverables, status reports on all areas and identify opportunities to improve project deliverables and to implement best practice for changing needs and requirements
  • Participates in Service Management meetings and all critical Customer interactions
  • Ability to encapsulate knowledge for sharing across multiple projects
  • Project auditing and risk assessment competencies
  • Ability to mentor and technically guide the project leads and team members in the crisis on the project deliverables and meeting the SLAs as per the Statements of Work
  • Should have excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience managing and resolving work requests, tracking incidents and issues, and escalating technical problems for resolutions
  • Ensure that the Teradata Environment supports the customer’s goals and objectives, in compliance with a defined Statement of Work and associated Service Level Agreement.
  • Ensure processes are in place for SLA measurement and reporting
  • Provide periodic reporting and presentations to Teradata MS Stake holders & client management on the state of the Managed Services project
