Senior UI/UX Engineer
Location: US Virtual (San Diego/Seattle Preferred)

Teradata is looking for a Staff UI/UX Web Application Software Engineer to join our Cloud Database Transformation team. As we continue to build momentum as a hybrid cloud analytics provider, our Cloud Database Transformation team has a dedicated focus on extending our market-leading database to develop even stronger cloud capabilities. 

We are looking for a self-driven UI/UX Web Application Engineer to join the team and you’ll be building Web Applications enabling the best possible Developer, DevOps, and Data Science experience as they integrate and interact with our new cloud-based data-as-a-service platform.

What You’ll Do

• Design the overall User Experience, implement, and unit test user interfaces leveraging agile and continuous delivery methodologies
• Work as the main user experience designer with input from product management and business users, to create designs and wireframes for production applications
• Perform functional and performance analysis of code defects and correction of defects
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle by designing and implementing complex features for the product
• Perform competitive analysis of other database management systems, other data integration solutions, and recommend Teradata cloud database changes to close competitive gaps or to enhance competitive advantages 
• Analyze requirements for complex feature development 
• Automate testing of the user interface components

Your Background

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar degree, or comparable work experience
• Hands-on experience designing/developing cloud-based technologies
• 5+ years of experience in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• 5+ years of experience in UX design, including UI mocking, CSS/SASS styling, and rapid prototyping
• 5+ years of experience with continuous integration, automated unit testing.
• 5+ years of experience with Web architectures and services (HTTP, REST, sockets, JSON, multi-threading, etc.)
• 5+ years of professional experience with modern web frameworks, at least some of which is in Angular, ReactJS, and Redux

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with online mocking tools (Miro)
• Experience with Material Design
• Familiarity with AWS or other public clouds and have built apps leveraging its offerings (S3, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB, EC2, Kinesis, Cloud Formations, etc.)
• Experience with Docker
