The Teradata Service Analytics team is dedicated to automating customer support and transforming customer support from reactive to proactive by leveraging data and analytics. Our vision is to optimize customers' Teradata solution performance and availability, through automated analytics-driven predictive/proactive issue resolution while enabling Customer self-service. Specifically, to develop an analytics software system for customer support, which will

  • Utilize data and analytics to predict Customer operational issues
  • Proactively provide solutions to avoid impact to Customer operations
  • Enable Customers to quickly and easily resolve their own problems
  • Assist Customer Support Associates to quickly resolve customer issues

What You’ll Do

As a member of our team, you will work in collaboration with other members to research, design, prototype, test, maintain, and document big data systems, and work closely with data scientists to utilize the data to perform predictive analytics for automated, near real-time decision making on data and problems. You will handle massive datasets, which includes determining which data management systems are appropriate, working with data scientists to determine which data are needed for analysis, performing data integration and cleansing, exploratory data analysis, and optimizing database performance for both data intake and application queries. Your ultimate goal is to provide and maintain clean, usable data for exploratory analysis, predictive modeling, and rapid prototyping. You will also work with software engineers as well as data scientists to transition data infrastructure and analytical algorithms into an operational and performant service analytics system. 

Your Background

  • USA B1/B2 Visa or the ability to obtain as a condition of employment
  • Fluent English Communication (Written & Verbal)
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related discipline (e.g. Data Science, Data Engineering)
  • 2 to 3 years of experience gained through a combination of academic studies and work experience
  • Programming experience in Python and/or Java building software
  • Prior work demonstrates experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • SQL-based technologies
    • Data mining: discovery of patterns & signals in data or anomaly detection
    • Business intelligence: Generating reports for business owners and executives
    • Drawing conclusions from data and generating actionable information
    • Natural language processing and text analysis
    • Software engineering: Ability to work with team members to implement algorithms
  • Programming experience in Python and/or Java
  • Good working knowledge of Linux operating systems, containerization, and cloud
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate on an interdisciplinary team to solve problems in a fast-paced continuous development and deployment environment
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for data management and solving real-world problems
  • Team player who can collaborate with team members, occasionally going beyond the typical data engineer role


  • Experience with enterprise-class database warehouse technologies
  • Experience in working with data scientists on integrating, processing, and analyzing data (structured and unstructured)
  • Experience in predictive modeling, natural language processing, text analysis, machine learning, and data mining
  • Experience in DevOps and implementation of continuous integration and deployment
