About the Position:

Sr. Staff Technical Product Manager – Cloud Adoption

We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead a cohesive effort in building Cloud Services strategy and plans on Cloud platforms.

The Technical Product Manager is able to translate business strategy, requirements and product and service offers into a coherent technology framework deployable by customers. You will be responsible for working with sales teams and product teams to develop a target cloud solution and an associated architecture that exceeds customer requirements, helping to win new business for Teradata Cloud and grows the consumption of Teradata with our customers.

As a Cloud Adoption Technical Product Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for the defining the process to onboard customers into Teradata’s Cloud and drive adoption of Teradata’s Cloud. You will work closely with our Sales team to ensure successful solutions are built that will tailor to customers business needs. You will work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Services, Sales and the other organizations within Teradata to ensure a unified customer onboarding experience.

A senior and seasoned technology professional, the Technical PM is a trusted advisor with a broad understanding of digital transformation initiatives, the analytic technology landscape, industry trends and customer motivations. 

You are able to traverse the realms of business, experience design & technology and can rapidly simplify complex topics and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. You will drive product development, expanding solution capabilities by understanding first hand customer insights and translating business needs to engineering for development. Have solution and customer focused mindset to understand technical market needs, set priorities across functions and help translate market realities into a product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology.
  • Make recommendations to management on enhancements to existing and new cloud software and architecture or related tools.
  • Partner with other Product Management teams, Architecture, Engineering and Cloud Operations and Support teams to collaboratively develop architectures that ensure Teradata products and processes to support customers while maintaining high standards of cloud practices. 
  • Identify, assess and meet with Cloud Partners to assess opportunities to integrate their products and services into the Teradata ecosystem. 
  • Meet with customers and industry experts to assess and discuss cloud requirements across relevant customer industries and domains, and from this develop relevant action plans for Teradata teams. 
  • Assist Teradata sales and consulting teams to design and implement the Teradata systems for our large, global customers.
  • Develop cloud architecture strategies that align to business strategy for cloud.

  • Follow the software development lifecycle from inception throughout design, engineering, testing and deployment
  • Facilitate project meetings, team coordination, issue resolution, and action item tracking.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and negotiate complex concepts to management, team members as well as non-technical audiences 
  • Analytical thinking and creative ability to work outside the box to solve problems
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills 
    Involves a limited amount of travel (<20%) 

Qualifications:

  • US Permanent Residence or citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, Business or related technical field or equivalent of education and experience
  • Have at least 5+ years hands-on experience in architecting, designing, delivering or optimizing Data Warehouse and/or Data Lake solutions
  • 4 - 6+ years of Product Management experience in a Software technology business
  • Have a background in technology consulting and relevant pre-sales experience;
  • Have experience of architecting, designing and implementing Cloud-based solutions;
  • Knowledge of Cloud deployment concepts, policy frameworks and best practices. 
  • Track record working with network infrastructure / Software Defined Networks, virtualization technologies, operating systems, database and web applications. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable making hard decisions using a blend of quantitative and qualitative inputs
  • Deep understanding of Public Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure & GCP
  • Deep understanding of Cloud Service market place
  • Experience working in an agile product development environment
  • Excellent project management and time management skills
