Intern - Server Management
Location: San Diego, California US
Requisition Number: 208814
Position Title: Intern-Engineering (I)
With all the expenditures made in analytics, it’s time to stop buying into partial solutions that overpromise and underdeliver. It’s time to invest in answers. Only Teradata leverages all of the data, all of the time, so customers can analyze anything, deploy anywhere, and deliver analytics that matter most to them. And we do it on-premises, in the Cloud, or anywhere in between, throughout the world. We call this pervasive data intelligence. It’s the new way we transform how businesses work and people live through the power of data.
Our summer internship program lasts 10-12 weeks beginning in May/June and ending in August/September. Fast-paced, flexible, fun. The Teradata culture isn’t just about one kind of person. So many individuals make up who we are, making us that much more unique. It’s what sets apart the dynamic, diverse and collaborative environment that is Teradata.
The Server Management engineering team is looking for a highly motivated engineering intern who can learn new technologies to help improve our set of tools we use. You will be working under the direction of a mentor, and although you will be working primarily independently you will also be interacting with other members of our highly talented team.
This internship opportunity focuses on taking a prototype diagnostic program and repackaging it into a docker container so that it can be easily integrated into Teradata’s test automation framework. Once operational the task will then be to incrementally enable additional diagnostic checks in the tool to verify the correct configuration of our server management software deployed in Amazon’s AWS, Microsoft’s Azure, and Google’s cloud platforms. By the end of the internship this will have grown to be an important tool for us to ensure newly-provisioned customer systems in the cloud are setup correctly. You will not only be the primary contributor to this effort, and learn new things along the way, but you will also educate your team members about what you’ve accomplished.
The ideal internship candidate is currently working towards a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, is a highly motivated self-starter, and is eager to work with a team of experienced software architects and developers to contribute to the Teradata product set.
