Software Configuration Management and Release Engineer

You will be the software configuration management person for a large, agile cloud product that includes a database, APIs and many other components. This will involve being the focal point for all such activities within team and also being a primary contact with the rest of the company for integration issues.
You will have an established background in building and managing reliable software in a service-oriented environment, have such software operate at high-scale and reliability with high SLA's, have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results.
• Develop and implement processes for the software configuration management (SCM) of complex software components for a very large cloud database company,
• Know distributed version control systems like git (github/gitlab and other related implementations),
• Work with a geographically diverse, dynamic multi-disciplinary agile team of architects, engineers and software quality engineers.
• Ensure that software configuration management processes meet regulatory, contract and customer requirements. This includes version control, release management, bug tracking, notifications, traceability and change management.
• Able to quickly scale the release management in a fast-paced cloud deployment model.

• 3+ years of configuration management skills
  • Implement, acquire, and integrate complex configuration management tools for rapid deployment on cloud and on-prem systems.
  • Improve and automate the software development process, in collaboration with software engineers and development teams.
  • Provide solutions to complex problems and issues that occur with configuration management tools.
  • Develop and implement processes to manage and control changes to all aspects of the software tool chain, including code, test data, test results, documentation, etc.
  • Use complex commercial and open source tools such as Confluence, Jira, and other related DevOps tools.
  • Manage multiple software build components and automated feature pipelines using Jenkins and related tools.
  • Integrate with Collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, Slack and others.
  • Possess excellent Configuration Management troubleshooting skills.
  • Develop new tools/scripts to provide process automation and automated record keeping.
  • Perform build artifact management using tools like JFrog Artifactory
  • Develop and implement traceability across software artifacts.
  • Handle release cadence, Customer Emergency Fix (efix), End of Maintenance and Extended Software Maintenance cycles.
  • Experience with large scale distributed systems
  • Experience with agile methodologies
  • Experience with Continuous Integration
