OUR TEAM

The internship job opportunity is for the Operating System Engineering Team within the Shared Services Engineering organization. OS team provides the underlying infrastructure for all OS Teradata products on physical and virtual platforms, including Kubernetes and containerized application deployments. OS team provide the necessary service on multiple hardware platforms, including public and private cloud environments.

We are looking for a candidate to join our fast paced and cutting-edge development organization that is on the forefront of our “Teradata Everywhere” strategy.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Visualize Aggregated Database Metrics ---- This project will encompass metric aggregation, manipulation, and expression through dynamically populated dashboards. Using modern technologies such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Flask, Angular, and much more, interns will have the opportunity to build infrastructure that automatically gathers metrics about the company-wide the pipeline for use in Angular-based dashboard representations. It will involve a mixture of full stack, DevOps, and data manipulation in order to accomplish a comprehensive metric-driven environment for verbosely presenting the current state of our automated environments. Interns will gain skills in Agile development, Kubernetes, and large-scale automation workflows. 

Your Business Objectives would include:

  • Work independently, with an assigned mentor and with other team members of a very strong development team on challenging and exciting assignments.
  • Participate in development of enhancements and new features for the Teradata QueryGrid product.
  • Become familiar with all Teradata connectors and apply your experience to enhance our Teradata, Hive, Presto, Spark, or Oracle connectors.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in BS/MS degree program. Graduation dates between December 2021-June 2023
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Strong C++/Java programming language skills
  • Exposure to SQL and various database concepts and internals
  • Experience with scripting languages (bash, Python)
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating system
  • Experience with Teradata and Hadoop technologies a plus
