Lead Data Integration Developer

The Lead DI Developer specializes in the design and development of the ETL environment, processes, programs, and scripts to acquire data from source systems and apply the data to the tables in the database. This individual must have the skills necessary to understand the overall data warehouse architecture. The Lead ETL Developer designs and builds the ETL environment with the specific toolset required by the client. The ETL Developer participates in making decisions on database design and overall solution architecture to maximise operational availability of the customers environment. The ETL Developer may act as Technical Delivery Lead where required.

 Key Areas of Responsibility

• Capture ETL Requirements
• Design, develop, test, support processes for extracting, transforming and loading data from source systems to DWH and Data Marts
• Maximise environment availability through design and deployment of robust operational processes
• Ability to write performant Teradata database scripts (TPT, BTEQ)
• Operationalise all Data Integration processes to maximise process robustness
• Design the processes to meet service level agreements for data timeliness and frequency
• Analyze and improve query and solution performance
• Ability to optimize physical data models as required
• Mentoring junior team members in Data Integration best practices

 Requirements

• Operational mindset key to maximise environment availability
• In depth knowledge of Teradata RDBMS although other enterprise relational database knowledge will be considered
• In depth knowledge of one of the enterprise strength ETL tools i.e. Informatica, DataStage etc
• Experience in implementing ETL solutions for large, enterprise-grade customers
• Knowledge of a Metadata driven approach is an advantage
• Knowledge of elements of the Big Data stack is an advantage
