Junior Data Engineer
Location: Tijuana, BC (Zona Rio)

Teradata's Service Analytics team is seeking a Junior Data Engineer (0-2 years of experience) to join our fast-growing group. As a member of our team, you will work in collaboration with other members to analyze and visualize large sets of data to provide insights to our Customer Support and Services teams. You will work closely with Data Scientists and Engineers to utilize data to perform predictive analytics for automated, near real-time decision making on data and problems. 

Interesting Work You'll Do:

• Handling massive datasets, building the dataset semantic layers, and connecting data to real-time dashboards and other visualization tools
• Working closely with Data Scientists to determine which data are needed for analysis and performing necessary data integration and cleansing
• Learning how to provide and maintain clean, usable data in a performant way to data scientists for exploratory analysis, predictive modeling, and rapid prototyping

Your Background:

• You're interested in working in the exciting field of Data Analytics as a Data Engineer
• You have the ability to quickly learn new technologies and perform highly technical work on the back-end of an application stack
• US B1/B2 Visa (or the ability to obtain as a condition of employment)
• Fluent English Communication Skills (Verbal & Written)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field 
• Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases
• Experience with BI data visualization tools and/or Jupyter notebooks
• Ability to collaborate on an interdisciplinary team to solve problems in a fast-paced continuous development and deployment environment
• Self-starter with a positive attitude, intellectual curiosity and a passion for data management and solving real-world problems

Highly Desired Skills/Background:

• Programming experience in Python and/or Java
• Experience with enterprise-class database warehouse technologies
• Experience in working with Data Scientists on integrating, processing and analyzing data (both structured and unstructured)
• Experience working with Business Analysts to provide business insight dashboards
• Experience in DevOps and implementation of CI/CD
• Experience and a strong interest in Open Source technology 
• Demonstrable skills in creative problem solving of complex and advanced technical subject matter
