The Job: 

The Engineering Services group enables our product engineering teams with shift-left technologies and resources needed to deliver Pervasive Data Intelligence products. As a member of one of our fast-paced, High Performance teams, you will help us design, implement, and support new and enhanced engineering tools and data-driven solutions that are highly automated and secure. You will have the opportunity to script and code integrated solutions to advance Operational Excellence as well as frequently collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams, both local and geographically dispersed, to drive adoption of emerging technologies and said solutions. This senior technical position is based in our San Diego office and will be the primary technical lead for Jenkins as a Service (JaaS) and TeamCity enabling Continuous Integration for development teams as well as support other engineering tools and automation across the teams.

 

Your Duties and Responsibilities (shall include but not be limited to):

  • Design, implement and support Jenkins as a Service (JaaS), TeamCity, and other engineering tools and automated solutions for CI/CD enablement and R&D lifecycle management
  • Propose process improvements for R&D operations that result in reduced processing times, radically simplified architectures, and/or improve quality
  • Script and/or code solutions in support of integrating and automating engineering tools and processes
  • Drive Operational Excellence into build automation and environments in support of product engineering
  • Participate in day-to-day operations for tools and automation using ITIL practices via ITSM (Ex: incidents, problems, changes, service requests)
  • Participate in the on-call team rotation (24/7) for P1 incidents related to engineering tools
  • Participate in periodic off-hour meetings with geographically dispersed team members to ensure success within Engineering Services and related projects
  • Serve as a technical lead on projects and enhancements
  • Elicit requirements from stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Extract data from engineering tools and environments for dashboarding, decision-making and automation
  • Propose data-driven solutions that are both innovative and security-focused
  • Deliver on schedule with regard to technical and integration planning
  • Report results throughout implementations
  • Create and maintain logical diagrams and support documentation

 

Skills and Experiences You’ll Need to Be Successful:

  • US Permanent Residence
  • Bachelor's degree in a Technology or related field
  • 12 or more combined years of DevOps, Software Development and / or Engineering Operations experience
  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated Technical Qualifications
    • Administering and utilizing Jenkins at scale for build management and continuous integration  
    • Coding in two or more of the following languages (Python, Groovy, Java)
    • Creating Docker Images and managing Docker Containers
    • Scripting for configuration management (prefer Ansible)
    • Supporting highly available production applications and tools, both open source and COTS (prefer Artifactory, BlackDuck, Github, Coverity, Jira)
    • Analyzing enterprise application performance, determining root cause, and optimizing resources up and down the stack
    • Scaling Application Workloads in a Linux VMware Enterprise for a Global user community
