This is an exciting opportunity to join Teradata’s EMEA Digital Sales Team as a Business Development Executive where you will gain in-depth knowledge of the analytics and data management space. The Business Development Executive is responsible for the identification, targeting and nurturing of prospects in a defined territory and will be focused on must-win prospect accounts. To be successful, you need to be an adept communicator, capable of engaging in business and technical conversations at multiple levels of the client organization. You will partner with your extended account team (Solution Engineers and Engagement Managers) to execute specific sales strategies and tactics in support of defined customer targeted objectives. Finally, if you are naturally analytical and enjoy learning, digging into the business of customers and how analytics and technology impact their business’ outcomes then this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively engages and interacts with IT and business prospects in commercial accounts via telephone, email and other digital channels to develop relationships.
  • Identifies and qualifies target contacts using internal and external data sources including LinkedIn Navigator.
  • Creates strategic account plans that result in closing targeted new logo business and manages all aspects of the selling process.
  • Maintains a prescribed cadence of outbound activity in support of account plan tactics and go to market strategy.
  • Understands the clients’ key business initiatives, areas of concern, technology stack, and competitive environment. With this knowledge, recognizes how Teradata solutions apply and can articulate the value of these solutions.
  • Coordinates targeted segments of Teradata engagement with client, while leading specialist resources when needed in the selling process.
  • Builds and maintains healthy working relationships with internal Teradata resources and communicates effectively with Teradata account team.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience leveraging digital sales channels and social selling (Linkedin, Twitter etc) to engage with customer prospects and stakeholders.
  • Fluency in either French or German languages to compliment your fluency in English would be a bonus
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience selling software & services, specifically in the analytics and data management space.
  • Successful track record in lead generation, conversion, business development and a willingness to pursue multiple contacts in support of common sales strategy.
  • Ability to excel in a team environment focused on client benefit and overall success of Teradata Commercial Account Team.    
  • Awareness and comprehension of the latest advanced analytics techniques and how they apply to business decisions.     
  • Experience with salesforce.com, targeted marketing techniques, account planning processes and commonly used tools.      
  • Experience selling Cloud, analytics and consulting services.
