Senior Solution Engineer (Presales Consultant)

Summary

This position is a Senior Solution Engineer (Presales Consultant) within Teradata China, locating in Shanghai. This position is to provide the comprehensive presales consulting services to support our sales activities, including our Teradata hardware and software products, analytics solutions and services offerings.

The candidate must be familiar with Teradata or other relational database technology, must have presales consulting soft skills and have multi years presales experiences in banking industry and/or transportation, logistics industry, and must speak fluent Chinese and good English skill.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Provide technical presales consulting services and thought leadership to Teradata clients, to support the sales of Teradata solution offerings including hardware, database, cloud, professional services and related analytical tools.
• Engage in presales activities e.g. preparing proposals and carry out presentations. Support sales motions, demonstrations, and scoping of Teradata product offers. Help secure new engagements by demonstrating how Teradata products and services can solve the client’s technical and business problems.
• Participates in customer and team relationship building. Team work with sales team and other internal teams.

Skills

• In-depth and practical experience in relational database, cloud, big data technology and architecture, as well as BI (Business Intelligence) or AI (Artificial Intelligence) or ML (Machine Learning) presales and delivery experience in banking and/or transportation, logistics industry. Better be familiar with Teradata and/or Hadoop technology and architecture.
• Strong client interaction, communication, documentation, presentation and consulting skills.
• Ability to assess the opportunities, benefits, risks, and success factors of a potential solution.
• Must speak fluent Chinese and good English skill in speaking, reading and writing.

Basic Qualifications

• Deep knowledge in data warehouse and big data analytical solution offering including platform, database, technology and architecture etc.
• 3+ years presales and delivery experience for banking and/or transportation, logistics
• 1-3 years experiences in Teradata products presales and/or implementation.
• Bachelor’s Degree or above from top ranking university of China or worldwide.
