Teradata is a global leader in the data warehouse field. The Global Delivery Centre in Prague assigns its consultants to the largest and most sophisticated data warehouse (DWH) projects across the EU, for example in Austria, Italy, Sweden, UK, France, Czech Republic, etc.

We are looking for ETL Developer/Automation Engineer to perform various tasks like analyses, database and architecture design, gathering business requirements, creating testing and implementation scenarios, developing and implementing planned solutions, automating all typical development activities including coding, testing and deployment  etc.


Responsibilities and Duties of ETL Developer/Automation Engineer:

• Performing data warehouse tasks for large projects (database design, business analyses, defining business requirements, ETL development)
• Deliver business and application specific consulting services included in the integrated Teradata solutions
• Understand Business Data Model and logical mappings (source mappings, LDM mappings)
• Participating of mapping and design of customer’s business needs to the Teradata database
• Support the pre-sale process as well as client communication
• Develop, automate and implement ETL solutions based on a templating principle
• Automate and perform testing
• Automate and package jobs to be prepared for deployment
• Support deployment automation
• Support infrastructure deployment

 Basic requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience working on DWH projects
• Practice experience with automation and programming
• Knowledge of the creation/modification of Mapping or Technical ETL specifications (Source Target Mapping)
• Excellent SQL know how
• ETL development and implementation experience
• Flexibility in working from Prague (Czech Republic) with business trips abroad if required by the customer
• Advanced English
• EU Citizenship

Desired requirements:

• Experience in banking, telco, pharma or retail industry
• Familiar with databases
• Experience with ETL tools, Teradata Tools and Utilities and best practices
• Experience with Programming languages – Groovy, Perl (Java, Python, Freemarker)
• Solid knowledge of Linux - basic layout, package management, shell scripting and user management,
• Good knowledge of a version control system (Git, Subversion…)
• Ability to use bug/task/change tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla…)
• Ability to write technical documentation in English language (Run Books, User Guides, Tutorials…)
