Execution & Enablement Leader, Greater China

 

Location: Beijing (with travel across Greater China)

 

The role of the Leader of Execution and Enablement is to define, lead and execute best practice policies and processes across both business operations and the portfolio of projects to ensure high quality, efficient project delivery, business integrity and profitability. 

 

This is a very influential and important position within both the Greater China and overall APAC business, leading a multi-location team of between 6 and 10 people, to provide strong business, operational, guidance and process support to the Country and practice leaders.  

 

 

Key responsibility:

 

Delivery Assurance:

 

This aspect of the role provides a framework of governance for the overall portfolio of projects across the entire lifecycle

 

• Pre-bid phase
• Commercials including pricing
• Scoping and ensuring that the effort is sufficient to deliver within the pricing quoted
• Ensuring successful project initiation, delivery, quality management and post implementation reviews

 

In this capacity the Senior Manager would have a team consisting of a lead Delivery Assurance Manager (based in Beijing) and further Delivery Assurance / Quality Management staff in other key geographies (East China / Taiwan, South China / Hong Kong etc.)

 

A key objective of this component of the role is to ensure that the business we bid for, book and deliver is:

 

• Compliant with the Teradata Consulting Governance Policy
• Adheres to relevant Project Management standards (PMBOK etc.)
• Aligns with the Corporate strategy
• Meets financial and commercial guidelines and standards around:

 

 

In addition, the role is instrumental in ensuring that the portfolio of projects is being managed effectively by coaching the Delivery Assurance Managers to ensure that:

 

• All Project Managers maintain up to date and accurate project documentation and information
• Project Managers follow advice and guidance on best practice around
• Customer projects are reviewed regularly and delivery improvements are put in place
• Customers are surveyed throughout the project and after go-live

 

The Execution and Enablement Senior Manager is also responsible for ensuring that Delivery Assurance Managers:

 

• Provide input to the monthly Outlook (forecast) process
• Participate in global and regional business improvement initiatives
• Proactively look for local business improvement and communicate this throughout the Delivery Assurance community
• Maintain a register of customer documentation
• Work with the project team to identify and harvest re-usable intellectual property

 

 

Delivery Operations:

 

The Delivery Operations function covers areas such as:

• Resource Management
• Business Operations (working closely with Finance Operations)
• Business Planning,
• Bottom-Up Resource Based Revenue Forecasting
• Global Delivery Centre (GDC) liaison (offshore consultants)
• GDC and staff visas
• Third party contracting
• Working with Delivery Assurance and Finance Operations to:
• Ensure consistent use of the tracker tools and Financial tools across the business, resource and revenue outlook
• Measure and publish Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports
• Act as a key liaison between back-office functions to ensure a smooth delivery of service to client facing teams
• Promote information sharing and single process adoption across the consulting organisation
• Support Delivery Assurance team in conducting project governance reviews

 

Candidate Profile

 

• Bachelor’s Degree is a business or finance related field
• A recognized Project Management qualification (PMP) or demonstrable experience
• A strong understanding of how US companies operate in the China market
• Experience in drafting or negotiating complex services contracts
• Proven ability to meet targets
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Mandarin and English
• Ability to travel across Greater China and Asia Pacific
• Hands on project management experience / PMO experience
• At least 10 years’ experience is Consulting Delivery or Consulting Finance / Operations
• Experience in managing complex relationships both inside the organization and with customers
