Qualifications

• Senior DBA with more than 8 years of relevant administration experience including Teradata V15 or higher.
• Support multiple Teradata systems including independent marts, development/UAT, disaster recovery, and the enterprise warehouse.
• Manage/Monitor system performance, including workload management and throttling in TASM, query performance and tuning, physical node behaviour, and amp distribution.
• Consult on physical database implementations, PPI, skew analysis, join methods, and data access paths.
• Work with Teradata GSC in resolving RDBMS related incidents.
• Experienced with performance tuning and SQL query optimization.
• Implement and administer access policies in conjunction with corporate standards.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud-based development.
• Experience developing distributed systems and cloud services.
• Enough operational experience to know what it means to build for scalability, reliability, security, supportability.
• Knowledge of REST, Web services, SOA, and APIs.
• Expertise in Web Applications Development using HTML, CSS, CSS3, Javascript Object Oriented programming, AJAX, jQuery, XML, JSON.
• Experience with automated deployments and source code / configuration management tools - GitHub, VSTS, AWS OpsWorks, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, etc.
• Experience with Automated Testing Tools. (Jasmine, Selenium, CasperJS, Cucumber, etc.)
• Solid understanding of the UNIX/Linux/Windows operating systems

Required Skills

• Strong Experience with System Administration, Database Administration, Backup, Archive & Restore Management, Performance Management & Reporting.
• Advanced working knowledge of Teradata RDBMS at both physical and logical levels.
• Advanced working knowledge of Teradata suite of tools; TDWM, BTEQ, ARCMAIN, FASTLOAD, MLOAD, TPT, DBQL, PDCR.
• Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, Strategies defined for backup/recovery techniques, and problem determination and resolution.
• Working knowledge of Viewpoint and Teradata Data Mover.
• Working knowledge of database backup and restore processes via TARA/DSA and NetBackup
• Strong experience with Unix shell scripting.

Advanced Skills

• Familiar with Teradata Systems setup, GDO, DBSControl, Multitool, etc.
• Experience with PDCR, Teradata Resusage, DBQL and TASM reporting.
• Teradata BAR technology, Taraserver, DSA.
• Experience with data science deployment of models
• Experience with ETL/BI tools such as Informatica, SAS, Microstrategy and R.
• Knowledge of Oracle, IBM and Microsoft RDBMS platforms.
