Job Title: Customer Education Sales Specialist

Location: United States – Virtual / Remote; San Diego, CA

Overview:

In the role of Customer Education Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for positioning and selling Teradata’s education portfolio of offerings to clients in the USA.  Typically working with both Customers and the Teradata product sales team, you will be responsible for gathering requirements needed to best understand the customer education need and identifying skills and gaps to develop a training solution to be delivered to the client to ensure success with their Teradata products.

Training solutions will include virtual, self-paced, public and onsite in-classroom training or a blend and often will be customized. The portfolio ranges from Teradata’s classic data warehouse training offerings through to big data, Hadoop and Business Intelligence offerings.  The successful candidate must possess excellent writing skills, excel at multi-tasking and be personable. They should be comfortable speaking to colleagues and customers at all levels and facilitating in a group as well as in a virtual environment. The ideal candidate is innovative and is comfortable embracing new ways of packaging the right learning offerings to address evolving needs of a 21st century Teradata customer.

You will:

  • Working with the Teradata product sales teams, sell Teradata’s Education offerings to target accounts
  • Develop excellent working relationships with all designated Teradata Account Executives and Consulting Partners within the territory
  • Lead collaboration with subject matter experts to determine course content and suitable training methodology for customer solutions
  • Create proposals and Statements of Work for each client request
  • Follow up all leads and flag new solutions and requirements for the awareness of extended team colleagues
  • Keep up-to-date on new Teradata technologies along with training offerings and methodologies for positioning to customers
  • Use Salesforce to log all opportunities
  • Provide regular forecast of bookings/sales and revenue/delivery
  • Liaise with the Global Operations team to ensure each training project is successfully staffed and delivered
  • Provide Skills Assessments to customers to assist with determining skill levels

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of selling training solutions ranging from $3k to over $1,000,000
  • Proven track record of technical customer education course / program sales
  • Strong time management, cross functional management, communication, dialoging, questioning, presentation, and writing skills
  • Excellent skills in prioritizing, scoping, and managing multiple projects
  • Able to work independently and virtually
  • Successfully engage multiple people at different levels to complete tasks
  • Ability to travel without restriction
