External Description:

Key Responsibilities: 

• Guide and support the team and organization in following Lean/Agile practices, eventually becoming self-organized. 
• Help the team assess their Agile Fluency. 
• Improve transparency within the team.
• Identify and track removal of impediments.
• Be responsible for supporting and coaching the Product Managers, Engineering Managers and Team Members on Lean/Agile practices.
• Facilitating getting the work done in a servant leader role.
• Assisting with internal and external communications, improving transparency, and radiating information.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering Leadership in grooming and maintaining their product backlog. 
• Educate teams and conduct scrum ceremonies such as Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives, Demos etc.

Required Skills and Experience: 
• Scrum Master certification (CSM, CSP, PSM) or equivalent experience
• Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least four years in a software development environment.
• Knowledge of and the ability to explain to others the value of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict management, continual improvement, empowerment, and increased transparency.
• Knowledge of numerous well documented Lean/Agile patterns and approaches to Planning and Retrospective formats, Backlog management, estimation and automated testing. 
• Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Lean/Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Agile Games).
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Experience using and configuring JIRA including reporting.

Preferred Skills/Experience: 
• Experience playing the Scrum Master role for hardware as well as software teams.
• Experience playing the Scrum Master role for Kanban teams.
• Experience creating and using burn-up charts, cumulative flow diagrams, and cycle time metrics.
• Knowledge or prior direct / indirect experience of Code Repositories (GIT, SVN,ClearCase) Continuous Integration frameworks (Jenkins), defect tracking tools (Bugzilla, Jira).
• Experience in a Database/Data Analytics environment.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years job experience in Software Development environment.
