Summary Description:

This role is responsible for supporting the field and sales via the adoption of our marketing application solutions. This position will work closely with the Product Marketing, Sales and R&D teams to develop compelling story-based solution focused demonstrations. Demos are a critical part of our marketing tool suite and are a key asset in showcasing and differentiating our Teradata Solutions to the marketplace. 

Our team members are thought leaders that recommend best practices against the most difficult marketing use cases and are comfortable always working against deadlines. The Product Specialist will be a member of the Global Sales Support team for Applications.  There are several key activities that the product specialist will be responsible for that derive from this overall focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivery of a powerful market centric demo
  • Performs technical marketing activities to enable application consultants, sales, and marketing:
    • Develop Content / Tools for web based and Cloud hosted demonstration environments that use our story-based approach to outline solutions for our prospect’s use cases and business problems.
    • Research and answer sales, marketing, and application consultants’ technical questions when escalated
    • Focus on communicating and extolling the benefits of technical related features of our platform via solution focused demos
    • Train Field and Marketing personnel on product / solution demos
  • Maintains and continually upgrades technical understanding of Teradata’s Customer Experience applications
  • Responsible for writing technical whitepapers, product presentations and partner integration whitepaper as needed to support product demos
  • Support trade shows or other events as requested.
  • Support sales / pre-sales with client and prospect sales opportunity activities (net- new, upgrades, add-ons, partner integrations, POCs, etc.)
  • Constantly improve in the productivity of the Global Sales Support activities and come up with new activities or approaches to facilitate the sales resources in reaching our Sales Target Numbers and streamlining our installations.

Required Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business or computer science
  • Approximately five years of work experience in a technical role and familiar with Java, Java Script, HTML5, CSS, XML, Web Services, Web Service Authentication, Angular, and SQL
  • Experience performing simple maintenance and queries of relational databases
  • Ability to quickly learn technical information and convey it at the required voice and level
  • Good communication and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong time management skills

Nice to Have Skill-sets and Experience:

  • Previous Experience in developing and delivery of customer presentations and product demonstrations preferred
  • Experience with Teradata Marketing applications is preferred
