A key role of the Teradata Ecosystem Architect is to gain the respect and confidence of our client and through the role of trusted advisor ensure the client optimizes the Teradata deployment within their broader ecosystem. The ecosystem architect is responsible for leading the analytic ecosystem capabilities within Teradata Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand Practice located in Singapore, and is responsible for leading client discussions around evolving their analytic ecosystems. This includes eliciting high level business requirements leading to an information, application and system architecture definition capable of realizing multiple individual products over time. This includes a functional understanding of technology choices, with the ability to differentiate capabilities and lead to choices across the required capabilities. The architect must lead conversations at all levels of the organization, from the C-level through and including the enterprise architects. This requires the ability to challenge constraints and recommend alternative choices backed with solid reasoning. Additionally, managing client constraints that may be unavoidable, due to existing investments, resources or other factors. The architect must understand and lead Teradata strategic vision of the Unified Data Architecture, and contribute to and utilize frameworks from Teradata’s Global Architecture Practices.

The ecosystem architect is responsible for defining the conceptual and logical architectures as required for responsible clients, along with some solution level architectures, as required.  These can be as part of an architecture and planning service, architecture assessment or in the definition of an architecture as part of a bigger project/program.

The individual must have strong architecture consultant (or equivalent) experience in a related industry and have sizable solution implementation experience.  Additionally, the architect should be familiar with the concepts utilised within architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, with certification a plus.

Role will include ~80% client interaction requiring architecture expertise and travel when necessary.  Consulting and professional services experience for this role is an absolute pre-requisite. 

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Working within sales teams to generate new business for Teradata warehousing solutions, big data, advanced analytics, open source solutions and services.
  • Gathering and documenting client requirements and translating these into process and system architecture designs.
  • Understanding the client's business goals, IT plans and architecture and articulating linkage to the proposed data warehouse architecture and application designs.
  • Defining an enterprise blueprint and time-phased roadmap for enabling the business to realize their vision.
  • Being a trusted advisor to the client's decision makers by establishing credibility and expertise in Teradata suite of technology, CRM, or other areas related to Teradata's business solutions
  • Working with Teradata project managers to scope projects and developing statements of work, project plans, and risk analysis
  • Providing technical thought leadership and actively participating in the application design, implementation, and roll-out of Teradata solutions
  • Advise clients regarding Teradata’s Unified Data Architecture (UDA)

 Skills & Attributes
 

  • Broad technical expertise combined with business acumen.
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse applications, enterprise architectures, open source solutions, and technologies
  • In depth industry experience from one or more industries.
  • Understanding of the client's business domain e.g. CRM process, or supply chain, Technical accounting etc.,
  • Strong client communication and consulting skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor other technical consultants and architects
  • Ability to lead without a title, result oriented and self starter

 

Qualifications/ Experience

 

  • 8-15 years’ relevant experience
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Business Administration or other relevant numerate discipline
  • Demonstrated architectural, analytical, technical and communication capabilities
  • Experience architecting, building, deploying and maintaining scalable, highly available and performance friendly enterprise wide data warehouse, big data, advanced analytics and open source applications
  • Expert hands-on knowledge of one or more ETL industry products such as Informatica, Datastage etc.,
  • Expert hands-on knowledge of one or more BI/Reporting industry products such as Microstrategy, Cognos, SAP etc.,
  • Expert hands-on knowledge of one or more ESBs and industry middleware solutions and products such as Tibco, Web Methods etc.,
  • Expert hands-on knowledge of one or more open source big data platforms
  • Expert hands-on knowledge of one or more analytical systems deployment options on on premise or cloud or hybrid platforms
  • Ability to scope/size technical infrastructure solution(s) for a given customer analytics ecosystem problem or situation
  • Ability to engage and manage stake holder expectation
  • Ability to lead multi-stream, cross-functional projects of high-complexity
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and work both independently and as part of a team
