Job Position Details Test Engineer

Summary Description:
Responsible for supporting security features (TDGSS and Gateway) within the Teradata DBS software on all supported platforms. Work with engineering team members to participate and understand the feature(security features in authentication/authorization and network traffic encryption in general) design, write test cases and automate the test cases. Participate in planning, design, test, and documentation of software components according to a standard development process. Candidate will be expected to work closely with team leader, project manager, team members as well as members of other development organizations.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduate or Post graduate in Computer Science or related field.
Two to Four years of IT experience
Experience and good understanding of design and implementation of Unix applications.
Strong C programming skills is required and a knowledge of Java a plus.
Ability to understand product features and functionalities from design documents and analyzing code modules, execute testing according to test plan and document results with some supervision.
Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
Experience working in HP/UX, AIX, Windows etc. client environments a plus.
Experience in GSS (Generic Security Services) a plus.
Experience with LDAP and directory services concepts and integration a plus
Experience working with Relational Databases (RDBMS) and SQL a plus.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Responsible for working with the design team, understand the design, write test cases and automate the test cases.
Support must be provided in both 32 bit and 64 bit Linux operating systems. Additional client platform (such as Solaris, MAC, AIX) support as needed.
Participate in design, test and documentation of feature enhancements as needed.
Write technical documents that accurately describe unit test plans and reports. Execute tests according to approved test plans.
Aptitude for understanding complex software from the functional and technical perspective.
Report progress against objectives on periodic basis

 SQL
 Teradata database knowledge
 Clearcase version control
 Java, Perl
