Public Relations and Social Media Manager - UK and Ireland (full-time role)

Reporting to the Head of International PR & Social Media, you will help develop, drive and execute the country specific communication strategy in alignment with our corporate strategy, regional marketing and sales plans.

 

You will plan and direct public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favourable public image for Teradata. In this role, you will be tasked with fielding media questions, writing/localising press releases and pitching stories to influential publications. You will prepare media kits for local and International events then manage journalists at these events.

 

You will be the local subject matter expert for Social Media. You will contribute local content to the corporate profiles and help the UK & Ireland team improve their Social Media presence. This will entail writing blogs and posts for key individuals as well as creating content to help account teams with their go-to-market strategies. You will work with the wider marketing team to develop and execute successful marketing communications strategies.

 

Job Specification:

  • Manage PR agencies for UK and Ireland
  • Manage PR & Social Media budget that is allocated to the country
  • Reporting, measuring and evaluating of PR & Social Media efforts for the organisation
  • Develop and execute country PR & Social Media strategy based on the global and international guidelines
  • Aligning PR & Social Media strategy and execution with country leadership team and the country marketing manager
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key journalists and social influencers
  • Manage and support local PR and Marketing events
  • Support international and global Teradata events
  • Develop PR & Social Media content
  • Be responsible for releasing information to counter negative publicity, and handle crisis communications in the UK and Ireland

Candidate Profile:

Successful candidates must –

  • Demonstrate solid communication skills for highly complex topics, such as analytic technologies, in written and verbal form
  • Have at least three years of experience in Public Relations
  • Demonstrate experience in Social Media Management
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in, and a fair understanding of “Analytics” and/or “Big-Data” technologies
  • Excellent English skills
  • Willingness to be a team player and strong hands-on mentality
