We're seeking a Sr. Datacenter Operations Manager that is passionate about managing a world class data center for our IntelliCloud organization. Some of what you will be responsible for is overseeing implementations and operations for multiple production and pre-production facilities, including planning, hardware installations, capacity optimization, vendor and contract negotiations, infrastructure management tooling, automation of infrastructure and processes, and collaborating with other teams to continually improve the delivery of infrastructure and services in our data centers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop standards and documentation for datacenter operations
  • Manage cross functional teams
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationship, contract negotiations
  • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of data center services including colocation, connectivity and deployment of hardware and insure they adhere to operational standards
  • Responsible for Asset and Capacity Management, and continual assessments for process improvement
  • Manage installation of all cable and network infrastructure supporting facility and customer connectivity
  • Responsible for timely execution of data center services such as remote hands, customer installations and service requests
  • Support various accreditation initiatives, including, but not limited to, SSAE16, SOC2, ISO 27001, PCI, GDPR, etc.
  • Maintain compliance with local health & safety (i.e. OSHA) standards and national electrical and building codes
  • Build and lead a high performing, cross-matrixed, geographically dispersed team responsible for the installation, maintenance and operation across multiple data center regions
  • Responsible for Cost efficiency, Outage management, Change management and Compliance within Data Center. Evaluating PUE at the facility to ensure site is operating efficiently
  • Recommends, plans and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction
  • Develop and manage to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for data center mission-critical operations and Manage facility budget

 

 

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience managing production data centers (typically overseeing global data-center infrastructure spanning multiple datacenters)
  • Knowledge of structured cabling systems, networking and connectivity standards, and hardware installation requirements
  • Experience in colocation operations, including the installation and deployment of cage, rack and cable infrastructure, as well as, power circuit installation and power monitoring
  • Experience working with and deploying telecom and network providers, specifically in Meet Me Room and POP room environments
  • Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

 

 

Preferred Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of networking, servers, storage systems, DR/HA technologies, and Internet services
  • Bachelor's degree in Information technology or computer science
  • Experience with deploying Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools
