The Position:

Deep subject matter expertise across multiple areas of manufacturing, industrial intelligence, utilities, oil and gas, airlines and travel, proven business and entrepreneurial skills, strong market recognition and outstanding leadership, collaboration and team building skills are critical for this high profile, high impact leadership role.

The Industrial Practice Leader will first and foremost have a passion for transforming a business and a sense of urgency for building revenue. They will have experience building and running a highly profitable consulting organization in a highly matrixed environment. They will be a seasoned sales and consulting leader with a strong capacity to hit the ground running, a hunter mentality, and a robust rolodex. They will have a proven track record of selling consulting services in the digital, data and analytics space with the ability to solution creative, repeatable, tip of the spear solutions to drive the pull through of large technology sales. This role will require that you have the ability to build focused solutions, that are repeatable, and can be used across multiple use cases. In addition to selling and building solutions, you will help to drive Teradata’s product sales and adoption, build the team and manage client engagements. As a hunter, they will be able to leverage their personal rolodex as well as farm current accounts for new revenue.

Experience needs to be material and demonstrable in the following categories and by priority:

• Strong discipline in one or more Industrial sectors, including a clear and compelling ability to articulate the challenges that increased digitalization, demographic and technology trends that these will industries face with the ongoing Industrial 4.0 transformation.
• The creative ability to solve and build trust that Teradata is the partner to solve those challenges including X-enterprise reporting and analytics in supply chain optimization, operational transparency and industrial intelligence.
• Deep familiarity with technology driven business transformation and analytically driven operational optimization.
• Clear comfort in change management and large analytical deployments.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an executive who is seasoned in selling and delivering into the Industrial markets – Utilities, Oil and Gas, Auto, Airline, Transportation and Hi Tech. With strong leadership skills and an extensive background in technology based consulting, the right candidate will have the opportunity to build a large, vibrant and market defining business. They will have extensive experience identifying, building relationships with, and successfully selling to C-level business leaders including the Chief Data Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Chief Financial officer etc. They will understand a client’s key business initiatives, areas of concern, technology stack and competitive environment to guide them through how Teradata solutions can be applied to address their unique needs. They will be well versed in utilizing workshops, journey mapping, and design thinking to communicate a vision to their clients of the art of the possible and helping them to build their roadmap for success. They will be able to sell both front and back office solutions with a focus on winning front-end business and pulling through substantial technology sales. An understanding of the process and value of building repeatable customer solutions to drive revenue will be imperative to success.
They will possess strong communication and presentation skills and the gravitas to present themselves and Teradata as the premiere vendor for data consulting services to customer or prospects.

This Leader will be a solution sales consultant with responsibility for growing the business across multiple sectors of the industrial markets across the Americas. They will have previously been successful in a consulting or complex sales environment delivering enterprise solutions incorporating advanced analytics to existing and new logo accounts, transforming a business and building a team. This leader will be given the opportunity to shape and grow their practice with very high visibility in the organization. They will have responsibility for opening new logos, farming current accounts, and driving revenue, profitability, customer satisfaction and relationship management within their area of responsibility. Dependent on the client this person may personally own targeted accounts and act as the consulting executive for key customers.

In addition to sales and solutions, responsibility will include delivery oversight ensuring that Teradata’s teams of professional services Consultants are delivering the highest quality and service to the client. As a senior leader in the organization this person may provide oversight and guidance to teams that will focus on bringing deep subject matter expertise and market leading creativity into both Sales pursuits and also in execution of projects.

Principal Responsibilities

• Define the go to market strategy to quickly drive significant revenue increases.
• Maintain full operational responsibility for planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial results working closely with matrixed team of Sales, Consulting and Geography leadership.
• Manage and coordinate the pipeline and sales funnel.
• Work directly with C-level clients to understand their business problems and develop repeatable solutions using Teradata consulting and product solutions that will drive and increase practice revenue.
• Act in a manner of “land and expand” opening new logos and identifying ways to significantly grow revenue in existing accounts.
• Provide delivery oversight ensuring a high level of delivery excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Build strong relationships across the Teradata organization to ensure ability to partner for success.
• Mentor and coach junior team members such as Pre-sales Consultants, Project Managers etc.


Qualifications


• Proven record of ten years’ minimum demonstrating the ability to manage a successful business and P&L.
• Minimum of eight years as an internal or external consultant with broad exposure and experience in a variety of circumstances and a proven record of success.
• Proven Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing / Advanced Analytics / Data Science experience of at least 5 years.
• Hands on experience in several business disciplines such as business intelligence, or Advanced Analytics related consulting services, business operations, project management, information technology, software development, marketing, and sales with a proven ability and record of success.
• Strong communications and presentation skills both internally and with external eniminance. Ability to positively present themselves, Teradata and consulting services to customer or prospects.
• Ability to recruit and retain key associates in management, presales and delivery positions.


Education Requirements


• Demonstrable and proven success in business leadership and entrepreneurial success supersedes academic experience.
