 Summary Description: 

The test engineer will work closely with Teradata Unity Engineering team and product architects to engineer, deploy test development & automation in a Continuous Integration (CI/CD) environment.  The ideal candidate will possess application knowledge to synchronize data on multisystem environments including active-active data warehousing workloads & solutions.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Design, develop & automate tests to verify product operation and interoperability, including Unit, Feature, Performance assessments and Failover/Recovery strategies 
• Drive lead role with emphasis in understanding various test methodologies, build/maintain state-of-the-art test framework 
• Design and execute complex test plans simulating Active-Active Data Warehouse query & data load, failure/recovery and boundary test conditions 
• Participate in Agile software development & test processes 
• Contribute to and support test framework to validate & implement load performance tests
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues and test conditions; analyze product resource utilization and recommend alternatives to improve performance 
• Assist product engineers in the identification, reproduction and resolution of defects 
• Provide & implement recommendations/suggestions to improve testing efficiency 
• Lead test case development and design efforts per product review and requirements 

Skills & Attributes: 

The ideal candidate will have proven test development and deployment experience, excellent analytical skills, ability to plan and organize with strong interpersonal and communications skills. The successful candidate will have experience in an Agile programming, working knowledge of high performance data warehousing and computing environments. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of software development best practices and experience in test development & automation on Linux. BI tools and/or commercial product knowledge essential

Qualifications

• US Permanent Residence 
• Bachelor's degree in CS with 0+ years of software development and/or engineering experience, including but not limited to: 
• Proficient knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle & methodologies
• Software test development & automation - Unit, Functional, Integration tests 
• In-depth knowledge of load testing in real-time multi-tier architectures 
• In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies 
• C, Java, Python, Shell & SQL
• Data: JSON, REST

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with Agile development process 
• Strong programming & scripting skills 
• Tools: Jira, Jenkins, Teamcity, Git & Github 
• Build: Ant, Make, Maven, Gradle
• Comfortable with RDBMS technologies and associated customer operations experience.
