External Description:

The Digital Center of Excellence Web Operations Manager is responsible for managing all operational aspects of the web properties. The Web Operations Manager is responsible for leading the team which is responsible for coordinating efforts with internal IT and 3rd party vendors to ensure a best-in-class environment is in place for Teradata Web properties. This position is also responsible for all content management throughout t.com, as well as working with marketing teams to develop and implement web-based marketing campaigns online.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on or delegated creation of all campaign microsites, landing pages and other relevant web-based content.
• Responsible for overseeing the business/strategic view of all site changes, and assist in the development of strategic plans for Teradata’s digital cross-channel presence.
• Responsible for identifying key risks and conflicts across various code and product build processes, timing, and volume constraints, and ensure appropriate escalation of those risks to the key decision makers.
• Responsible for management oversight of key system environments from the business point of view, and partnering with IT leaders to coordinate migration between the environments including: Preview, Staging/QA and production environments.
• Manage web publishers, both internal and external resources, to support all publishing and creative production to ensure timely, and accurate project results.
• Responsible for leading: user testing, training and development of business requirements for new releases, functions, versions and tools used by all Teams interacting with the platform (web publisher team, creative team, stores, etc.).
• Act as a liaison between business and IT (or Digital agencies of record) on: site bugs, code release testing and approvals, fix status, release schedule, etc. Includes communication of resolution and status of fixes to online teams and external business partners.
• Ability to understand client’s campaign goals and to recommend appropriate web-based resource to meet their needs.
• Proactively engage marketing campaign teams to provide direction and recommendations on campaign best practices
• Provide direction to internal graphic design resources to create client artwork and banners for campaigns.
• Understanding of web content production, assets that contribute to engaging web experience and how to use content and copy to unify the experience (visuals, written content, headlines, text links, captions, etc)
• Provide guidance and support for both organic and paid search optimization efforts, and supervision of SEO-dedicated resources


Skills & Attributes:

• 8-10 years’ experience using Web Content Management Systems. (specifically, preferred experience with Kentico and Lithium, but also other tools like Covalent, Gr8People, Jive, WordPress, and AWS); including basic HTML coding experience, as often needed in accommodating WCMS template-level change requests
• 10+ years’ experience working with digital marketing and communications, preferably in technology B2B marketing.
• Team leadership & personnel management (preferred team size = >5 people)
• Experience connecting web sites with social media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter
• Experience working with global Content Delivery Networks (preferred to know Edgecast & Brightcove)
• Experience with advanced clickstream capture tools and web analytic platforms (i.e. Celebrus, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics)
• Experience integrating website clickstream data with visualization applications (i.e., PowerBI)
• Experience integrating website landing page experiences with Email/Marketing Automation Systems (preferred, Eloqua)
• Experience implementing web and email personalization
• Experience using Adobe Photoshop
• Exposure to Search Optimization tools (like BrightEdge or similar) and SEO best practices
• Self-motivated, organized and deadline-driven with the ability to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously
• Follow our visual brand guidelines, art direction, and collaborate with designers as necessary.
• An inquiring mind with a strong desire to learn.
• Skills in providing clear creative client direction and timely, helpful feedback to keep campaign work on budget and schedule.

Basic Qualifications: 

• Can juggle multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment
• BFA/BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, Digital Experience, Digital Technology, or related field. Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
• Must be self-motivated and able to work on projects independently as well as with a team
• Excellent communications skills
• Team leadership Experience, vision, and management skills; leading a team with both technical and business-oriented skills
• Live within driving distance of the Teradata offices in Rancho Bernardo, CA

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience implementing design within Content Management/Template Systems; specifically, Kentico
• B2B complex selling environment experience, comfortable with longer selling cycles
• Ability to manage multiple project stakeholders in a customer service-oriented environment
• Must be flexible and able to think outside the box
• Be able to adapt to working with multiple personality types, both business and technical aptitudes
• Ability to effectively manage both IT and agency relationships
