The Opportunity:

As a Consulting Director, in our Think Big Analytics team, you are a highly visible part of driving strategy and growth with key clients in the Automotive Industry. You are required to be commercially astute, an accomplished relationship builder, able to identify opportunities and apply sales acumen to create compelling services propositions. You will drive revenue solutions, while helping your clients grow through the use of our leading Data and Analytics capabilities. You’ll bring your impressive knowledge of the market, to develop new ideas that solve problems for our clients’ unique business challenges.

The Person We're Looking For:

  • A Sense for Business Development: You are commercially saavy and a thought leader. You’re able to support clients in understanding how Teradata services and solutions can help them, creating a roadmap to deliver improvements to the status quo.
  • Bit of an Organizer: You are an orchestrator who can lead, manage and coordinate multiple stakeholders, overall processes within consulting services and projects of significant scale, bringing in other specialists as needed.
  • Expert: You speak the truth, about ecosystems involving open and commercial software, on premise or in cloud. Your understanding goes beyond Wikipedia to hands on experience, and people respect it. Clients trust your recommendations as a result.
  • Leader: You recognize that a strong team helps you succeed. You’ll coach more junior consultants, and project managers, bring in outside resources as needed, and meet with your account team regularly to drive tactics and strategy. You will participate in client steering meetings and be a point of contact for issue resolution and escalations.
  • Revenue Focused: You recognize and cultivate opportunities. You manage a pipeline, and can scope, plan, cost, price and negotiate new projects. You are responsible for a P&L with overall accountability for successful delivery (Agile or Waterfall), which requires prudent risk management.
  • Has Technical Chops:
    • Proven Advanced Analytics / Data Science / Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing experience of at least 10 years. Demonstrated subject matter expertise in developing and deploying Data and Analytics solutions.
    • Hands on experience of consulting services, business operations, project management, information technology, software development, marketing, and sales with a proven ability and record of success. 
    • Able to identify developments that can be packaged for re-use and to collaborate and share knowledge with the wider Consulting Services community.
  • You’re a Natural: It’s probably a cliché to say “good with people” but in a role like this: Yeah, good with people fits. An accomplished relationship builder, able to persuade clients and influence internally.
  • Flexible: You recognize the need to spend time with clients, walking the halls. Expect to travel to client sites up to 70% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • BS, MBA, or MS in business, technical or professional discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Continuous education in business strategies, design concepts and methodologies and/or technologies. Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certifications a plus.
  • Proven record of 10+ years demonstrating the ability to manage a successful business and P&L ($5M or more). 
  • Minimum of 10 years as an internal or external consultant with broad exposure and experience in a variety of circumstances and a proven record of success.
  • Proficient German and English language skills
