Our Account Executives are responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with business and technology sponsors and working in concert with the account team to develop and execute winning strategies. To be successful, you need to be an adept salesperson, capable of engaging in business conversations at multiple levels of the organization. You should have an in-depth understanding of the buyer journey and the ability to lead a complex, multi-pronged sale in a highly consultative manner. Key Areas of Responsibility
• Responsible for setting and maintaining opportunity strategy for engagement with key stakeholders.
• Understands the client’s key business initiatives, areas of concern, and competitive environment.
• Knowing client challenges, recognizes how our solutions are applied and can articulate their value.
• Manages the sales process and closes sales of hardware, software, and services to deliver solutions.
• Responsible for account planning, client meetings, sales process and winning sales opportunities.
• Engages with internal resources to bring in expertise and specialized sales resources as needed.
• Builds/manages relationships with client decision makers as needed, individual contributor to C-level
• Coordinates team engagement with client, mapping our resources to the most valuable opportunities
• Maintains knowledge of Teradata products and solutions as well as competitive offerings
• Strengthens the Teradata brand with professional interactions and involvement in the community
• Acts as a model for team behaviors and in doing so perpetuates a winning attitude with others

Skills and Experience
Must Have
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Successful track record of up-selling to existing customers and penetrating new business areas
• Prior sales experience with large and complex enterprise customers
• Significant retail knowledge in order to drive sales conversations with business decision makers
• Awareness and comprehension of emerging technologies and how they apply to business decisions
• Proven skills in effectively managing and developing relevant messaging for buyers
• Ability to apply critical thinking to solve client challenges, including emerging industry opportunities
• Ability to effectively prioritize key activities and delegate as needed
• Innovative strategy development targeting problems your employer is uniquely positioned to solve
• Examples of building consensus and shared vision in cross-organizational team to deliver a client win

Preferred
• Prior experience with Teradata solutions and technologies
• Prior positive experience selling to Walmart
• Prior success engaging client and employer engineering talent to codevelop intellectual property
• Competency using Salesforce, Revergy, Microsoft Office Suite, and Workday

This position is working in an office environment and customer site. A combination of independent work and team collaboration will be required. Travel is also expected but typically no more than 25%.
