External Description:

This Account Executive will be responsible for direct sales (orders and revenue) into a large global customer and will be part of an established sales and services team. The person is responsible for the profitable sales of Teradata solution portfolio products including software, cloud, professional services, hardware and support services. This includes products such as Data Warehousing, Advanced Analytics, Big Data, Business Intelligence and related technologies. The focus of this position will be on CRM, Digital Marketing and eCommerce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capitalize on industry knowledge and contacts to uncover business opportunities
  • Effectively advise and influence customers through consultative selling techniques
  • Research the customer environment to understand their business, strategies, and priorities
  • Articulate a solution in terms of ROI to the customer
  • Utilize team members including post-sale delivery professionals, pre-sale technical professionals, and management to achieve business objectives
  • Rely on excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to initiate and maintain executive-level interaction and customer satisfaction
  • Interact with the customer to understand their business challenges in the area of CRM/digital marketing and develop new business opportunities
  • Close profitable Teradata business incorporating cloud, hardware, software, professional services and customer services
  • Understand and articulate the value of Think Big Analytics & Teradata Professional Services

Work Environment

This position is working in a virtual office environment, including home office & at the customer site. A combination of independent work and team collaboration will be required. Less than 25% travel is also expected, depending on the location of the candidate.

A successful candidate should be driven, creative, a self-starter and strategic thinker. The candidate must possess the ability to lead, advise and advocate for customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in selling software & analytical services specifically in the database space. Some technical knowledge of Cloud and/or CRM software is necessary (other applicable technologies include Big Data, ERP, BI, ETL).
  • Demonstrated success in sales. 75%+ success record for making sales goals.
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing a large account.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Retail and/or CPG-industry knowledge preferable. Industry Knowledge pertains to one’s ability to understand the current business problems that face customers in the CPG industry, staying on top of industry trends, predicting/forecasting possible business problems, and being able to articulate how Teradata Solutions can help the customer.
  • Experience selling solutions involving digital marketing and eCommerce, preferably to large and/or global Retail and/or CPG companies.
  • Experience selling to CXO level decision makers in designated accounts.
  • Experience selling data warehouse, analytics and business intelligence solutions.
