Scrum Master

Teradata is embarking on a transformation journey to standardize and modernize our people, processes, and tools across Customer Support and Services. We are establishing “practice areas” to lead us through the transformation and to provide on-going operational support. There will be multiple scrum teams to standardize business processes and configure best in class customer service tools which will be either Salesforce Service Cloud or ServiceNow. As Scrum Master, you will drive between 2-3 cross-functional teams through Teradata’s Customer Support and Services transformation.

  

Primary Responsibility

  • Guide and coach the teams and organization to follow Agile/Scrum practices and eventually become self – organized
  • Help the team assess their ‘Scrum Maturity’ and agile fluency  
  • Improve transparency within the teams 
  • Identify and track removal of impediments 
  • Own the support and coaching of Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and all team members in Agile/Scrum practice 
  • Facilitating getting the work done in a servant leader role
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information 
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering Leadership to groom and maintain the product backlog
  • Educate teams and conduct thorough scrum ceremonies such as Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives, Demos, etc.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be local to San Diego or willing to relocate
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, CSP) 
  • Experience with the following:
    • Acted as Scrum Master in the implementation of either Salesforce Service Cloud or ServiceNow
    • Prior Scrum Master experience in a software development environment while applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
    • Using and configuring JIRA including burndown charts
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict management, continuous improvement, team empowerment, and increasing transparency 
  • Knowledge of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (i.e. Burndown, Retrospective, handling bugs, etc.) 
  • Experience with successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
