Job Summary:

This position is for a Senior Staff Software Engineer in the Customer Alignment group of the Teradata Analytics Platform organization.  Candidate should demonstrate integrated knowledge across technologies, processes, systems and product sets; demonstrate in-depth level of understanding and ability to relate new and evolving technology to test, design, development and architecture; assess competitive advantage of design; and seek opportunities to produce intellectual property.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of workload management and system performance tuning area. 
•  Perform related requirements analysis, performance analysis and problem analysis. 
• ·       Provide technical leadership

This is an individual contributor role working with project/team leader/team members and reports to engineering manager.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and creative software engineer who is ready to participate in a team environment and contribute to the success of Teradata.  The successful candidate will possess excellent skills in organization and time management where scheduling priorities and efficiency in system configuration is essential. The selected candidate will possess good oral and written communication skills.

Basic Skills, Qualifications and Attributes:

• Experience in SQL performance tuning, workload management, performance data collection and analysis.
• Effective at isolating system performance problems
• Communicate effectively within and across multiple groups
• Effectively work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Skills:

• Project management
• Programming skills:  C, Python, scripting languages
• SQL experience
• Knowledge of Linux OS environment Experience with Cloud deployment environment
• Experience with parallel database architecture

Minimum Requirements

• US Permanent Residence
• Bachelor or Advanced Degree in CS or related field
• 10+ years of related experience
• Experience analyzing system performance issues
