Teradata R&D Labs is looking for a DevOps Engineer to be a part of a team developing new tools and systems to automate the deployment of Teradata software stacks to private cloud (VmWare), public clouds (AWS, Azure) and to on-premise bare-metal appliances. This engineer will be responsible for implementing a packaging and deployment solution that simplifies deployments to a “one click” process, encouraging both ease of deployment and high quality delivery.

Your Business Objectives would include:
  • Contribute to the architecture, implementation, and delivery of a continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) process, enabling automated deployment of Teradata applications
  • Create scripts, utilities, tools, and processes for the CI/CD platform enabling engineers to deliver high quality software in an automated manner
  • Implement a deployment system which allows self-service capabilities to teams outside DevOps
  • Oversee and continuously improve automation tools used for deployment, development, and operational tasks
  • Resolve deployment problems at their root with simple and repeatable solutions
  • Enforce common DevOps principles included in source control and build/deploy/release policies and procedures

 Experience, skills, and knowledge requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in devops/deployment automation solutions
  • Functional knowledge of Python, Ansible
  • Experience in automating deployment of apps to AWS and Azure
  • Experience in build automation and CI/CD automation with deep understanding of Jenkins
  • Experience with SVN and GHE source control systems
  • Strong Knowledge on containerization using Docker/Kubernetes
  • Experience with Stacki to automate deployment on bare-metal appliances
  • Good understanding of build pipeline, packaging, and artifact management
  • Strong Linux experience
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills

Preferred Experience and Education

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
