As the Practice Director, Business Consulting, you will be responsible for understanding industry and business trends related to the Customer Journey, developing the industry vision and message, and identifying and packaging the top business solutions. You will also manage a group of consultants who support the sales organization in selling consulting services, repeatable analytic solutions, and Teradata supplied infrastructure within their specific industry vertical.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Responsible for understanding industry and business trends impacting the business results of our customers.
• Develop standard industry and business messaging and sales deck within a specific vertical
• Identify the top 2-3 business outcome opportunities that the sales organization should proactively position and sell.
• Develop complete sales programs and collateral for each business outcome opportunity identified.
• Responsible for developing and growing a team of business consultants who can;
o Develop and provide content for RFI/RFP responses, concise TCO, value proposition messaging and sales proposals.
o Understand the customer’s business, strategy and key initiatives. Translates the customer’s business needs and requirements into business outcome lead proposals supported by Teradata technology and solution offerings.
o Use financial modeling to demonstrate the value gained by implementing Teradata solutions
o Assist clients in defining a strategy for achieving an improved future state and supporting business cases for the implementation of analytics.
o Interpret the results of the analytical insights and communicate the results to the client in a business context to drive value.
o Gains trusted advisor status among customers and prospects by demonstrating deep industry domain or business knowledge and explaining how Teradata solutions can grow their revenue.
o Develop reusable assets from customer engagements and to share knowledge within Teradata.
o Deliver high-level client billable consulting (pre and post-sale activity), ensuring a long term partnership with Teradata clients.
o Establish executive level relationships, provides subject matter expertise on engagements, and identify new target opportunities emerging within the Business.
o Understand and promote the business value associated with data warehouse solutions, big data analytics, business intelligence, and advanced analytics.


Skills

• Ten years of relevant business analytic consulting experience, preferably in directly supporting a client company or with systems integrator
• Prior experience in developing of solutions in the Customer Journey segment that resulted in additional revenue
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• Proven track record of success in developing sales programs and collateral within complex business models to further drive revenue
• Ability to work cross-functionally in matrix organization where internal relationship building and credibility is critical
• Solid understanding and experience using data with advanced analytics, business intelligence, data warehouse solutions, and big data analytics to improve business performance.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to develop and solve business challenges
• Knowledge and understanding of Business Processes, Business Process Modeling, Business Metrics, and best practices to drive customer success.
• Experienced with performing Business Impact Modeling to measure the value of business impact of new technology and processes across the client’s organization.
• Exceptional consulting skills in communicating, establishing of strategic direction, influencing others, negotiating skills, operational decision making, problem solving, facilitating and managing meetings, and questioning and probing.
• Highly skilled in organizational politics, value proposition development, solution selling, focusing on the customer, sales ability / persuasiveness, and business needs analysis.
• Able to clearly and succinctly present Business trends, data warehousing, and big data solutions to diverse audiences including media.

Preferred Skills:
• Master’s Degree
• Prior experience managing a team including a virtual workforce
• Experience with Teradata technologies as a user
This position is working in a virtual office environment, including home office & customer site. A combination of independent work and team collaboration will be required. Travel up to 50% is also expected depending on the location of the candidate.
