POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and directing Teradata infrastructure projects for a data warehouse or to implement a solution meeting agreed client requirements and expected Teradata business results. The Project Manager may lead a single project or oversee multiple smaller sub-projects and may act alone or is expected to lead a team or a definable segment of a larger project.

The Project Manager manages Teradata employees and third party contractors to ensure projects meet established time, cost, technical, and quality objectives. The Project Manager develops and manages the projects change control procedures and effectively utilizes all available methodologies and tools, culminating in client acceptance of results.  The Project Manager conducts project progress reviews with client and account team personnel, providing contingency and problem resolution plans as required.

The Project Manager supports projects beginning in the pre-contract sales process and will manage them through closeout. 

The Project Manager may be supported by additional Project Managers, and/or Consultants/Engineers. Some travel is likely to be required within APAK region. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

·       Years Experience

-        5+ years in IT Project Management

-        Infrastructure deployment and logistics management.

·       Preferred Professional Certification

 

 

-        PMI - Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certification [or equivalent]

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Lead the scoping, planning, cost estimating, and pricing of projects. Responsible for statement of work development and risk assessment, including but not limited to defining goals and objectives, identifying and documenting client requirements, resource requirements, project budget, project risks, and the translation of the clients business requirements into specific deliverables. Develop and manage project documentation.
  • Lead data warehouse or other Teradata solution implementation projects of moderate complexity, or a collection of multiple smaller projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on-time, within budget, and within client expectations for quality and functionality.
  • Manage client acceptance of the solution and manage client expectations in line with the agreed statement of work.
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with client stakeholders and resolution of all project issues.
  • Maintain and communicate project status to all stakeholders in reports and status meetings.
  • Identify sales opportunities, participate in pre-sales planning, project pricing, bid review, and presentation of sales proposals. Acquires incremental business within the project through change control.
  • Build and manage a project team, including Teradata employees, offshore resources, and contractors.
  • Ensure proper set up of the engagement in the time keeping system, ensuring consultants and contractors are always current with their reported time. Produces project financial and status reports.

Travel

Will occur, but varies based on project assignment.

Primary location will be to service local office but needs to be available to undertake assignments within the Asia Pacific area when required plus attend training in Sydney when required. Assume up to 40% travel when required.

  • Communication Demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills, which will be highly desired in this role.
