Pre-Sales Solutions Architect - Kaiser

The Pre-Sales Solutions Architect is a senior level position that leverages Big Data, data warehouse and analytical technical knowledge to promote sales of Teradata analytical solutions. The SA has broad knowledge of the Big Data, data warehouse and analytic space, and experience with Teradata products and technologies. The SA articulates analytical ecosystem architectures and trends, and provides technical consulting as a trusted advisor to support sales activities. The SA establishes and enhances customer relationships ranging from DBA to CIO, and provides technical expertise on engagements and identifies new target opportunities within our accounts.   

Overall Job Purpose: 

  • Drive sales of Teradata products, solutions, and services
  • Technical sales leader for Teradata Account Team
  • Serves as trusted technical advisor to client 
  • Increase use of Teradata systems through value-add opportunities
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and credibility with customers, from DBA to CIO
  • Understand and advise customers on data ecosystem architectures
  • Partners with account executive on account planning and strategy 
  • Work with overall account team to identify sales opportunities 
  • Operate the internal ordering process, from sizing to delivery
  • Add focus on working on customer on sales activities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Advocate Teradata products and solutions to customers and prospects.
  • Act as the “face” of Teradata to customers & prospects – able to quickly and easily articulate the advantage of Teradata product portfolio and solution offering.
  • Continuously drive the value of the Teradata solution for customer business challenges – create value, articulate value, maintain value.
  • Understand customer data & analytics challenges and translate to business requirements.
  • Build solutions that meet business requirements and provide value for customer data & analytics problems.
  • Craft creative solutions that leverage informed assumptions even when only partial info is known (this is huge and one of the primary differentiators between SA’s and other Teradata consultants).
  • Documents client’s current analytical framework/architecture and organizational data flow to understand the performance of the customer system to grow Tcore usage
  • Understand and communicate customer-specific value of Teradata solutions and how they integrate with the customers analytical ecosystem
  • Understand business value gained to customer by analytics. Understand and align our product services and offerings to solve business problems.
  • Manages relationships with client stakeholders as the key advisor on analytic architecture 
  • Creates client interest in Teradata solutions, advancing the sales process 
  • Syncs daily with account team lead to discuss account strategy and future sales opportunities

 Work Environment 

The Solution Architect will work from a virtual (home) office with considerable time required onsite with customer(s).  25%+ travel is required, dependent on account responsibilities/activities and location from home office. Local candidates preferred.
