Job Title: Internal Communications Coordinator

Location: San Diego, California

Overview:

  • The Internal Communications Coordinator is responsible for executing Teradata’s internal communications for email distribution within the global Teradata organization.
  • This role provides operational support for TailoredMail, our internal communications tool. including managing the vendor relationship and contact data quality, troubleshooting issues, supporting vendor training for Teradata users, and developing/managing the reporting functionality for communication across the company.
  • Be the internal tool (TailoredMail) expert and go-to contact for questions, issues, maintenance, custom-builds, training, quality assurance and reporting.
  • Manage the vendor relationship and acts as the primary Teradata point of contact for the vendor.
  • Manage contact data quality, consistently maintaining and reviewing the Teradata Data Warehouse (IDW) data flow, reviewing Workday HR data and ensuring consistency across the board.
  • Weekly data scrubs.
  • Responsible for thorough knowledge of the organization, management/reporting hierarchies for producing accurate targeted distribution lists.
  • Manages the dynamic and static distribution list functions within the internal communication tool and ensures inconsistencies are addressed.
  • Troubleshoots issues with tool behavior, works with vendor to ensure resolution, recommends best practices, works with internal teams to ensure optimum delivery via Microsoft Outlook to varying user device types and syncs with best practices from IT for spam avoidance, HTML, capturing opens, etc.
  • Support onboarding for Teradata TailoredMail users on tool usage, new features, custom builds, and provides recommendations for efficiency across internal tool databases for templates, images, widgets, etc.
  • Authoring/updating User Guides/Best Practices in relation to HTML builds/Tool Use, developing/managing the reporting functionality for communications across the company.
  • Assist with altering HTML source code using HTML editor (Dreamweaver or similar) and ensure images render properly in the design by editing (Photoshop or similar).
  • Work with the internal campaign execution manager to create landing pages and microsites related to internal communications.
  • Assist in optimizing email deliverability using tools and create reporting functionality to support the global organization understand what works best.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness metrics related to tactics. 
  • Work closely with internal communications teams and the tool vendor to define and implement new functionality and product offerings.
  • Continuously analyze operational processes to find and implement new efficiencies.
  • Continuously drive innovation tied to internal campaign execution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3+ years marketing experience with emphasis on marketing automation and tool management
  • 2+ or years of experience with set up and execution of multi-channel, multi-touch marketing automation-based campaigns using TailoredMail or other automation platforms
  • 2+ years of experience in tool or application technical support
  • Experience working with tool/application users in defining tool and communication requirements
  • Strong HTML knowledge
  • Knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to work with tool
  • Advanced experience creating emails, landing pages, forms and reports
  • Proven ability to extract and interpret data from various sources to offer creative marketing solutions and business decisions
  • Strong project management capabilities, including the ability to accurately specify project timeframes, dependencies and risk factors
  • History of successful vendor relationships and management
