External Description:

We are looking for a candidate that is passionate about his/her work and embraces the ideals of software craftsmanship and agile development practices. 

Responsibilities

• Implement and operate a scalable, secure, and high-performance, API driven, service-oriented platform deployed worldwide. 
• Work closely with a team of engineers to design and implement features and components aligned with Teradata Applications business strategy. 
• Collaborate on cross-functional agile teams to design and implement web-applications and refactor codebase to improve maintainability. 
• Solve complex scalability platform, and integration problems. 
• Learn new paradigms, languages, and libraries for building production applications.

 

Qualifications 

• Strong hands-on development experience with Java/J2EE, JMS, JSP/Servlet.
• Experience with Spring or similar MVC technologies, Hibernate or other implementations of the Java Persistence API.
• Experience with automated unit testing technologies like Junit, EasyMock, TestNG or others.
• Experience with deploying applications to Tomcat or other containers like Web Logic.
• Thorough understanding of relational databases and similar technologies.
• Ability to design and implement API driven applications and using and creating REST services. 
• Experience designing and implementing high performing, scalable, and secure web applications.
• Familiar with JavaScript Single Page Application development (Angular / React).
• Familiar with agile development methods.
• A background in C++ is preferred.
• Excellent English verbal, reading and writing.

Requirements 

• Proven experience developing web applications in a highly transparent agile organization, with iterations, continuous integration and a drive for quality. 
• S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field. 
• Must be a self-starter and able to work well with others in a fast-paced agile environment to meet business objectives.
