Job Summary:

The candidate will contribute as a member of the Open Source License Compliance team. The focus of the Open Source License Compliance team is on assuring Teradata’s use of free and open source software is done within the permissible limits of all relevant open source licenses. The contributions of this candidate would include, but not be limited to, working with scan-based open source compliance software to review, approve and track use of free and open source software at Teradata.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with R&D/Product Management teams to assure legal compliance with all OSS licenses, including reviewing/approving new requests for open source

• Serve as primary administrator for open source license scanning software

• Manage baselining of open source license content for new Teradata products

• Maintain accurate lists of open source content for all Teradata products

• Creation of license documents and reports for prospective customers or Teradata leadership/legal

• Evaluation and incorporation of software scanning tools

Skills/Attributes:

The ideal candidate will have a background in software development with a strong interest in learning about the legal issues surrounding open source license compliance and application of intellectual property laws to software. Be energetic, enthusiastic and an excellent communicator.
Basic Qualifications:

- BS/BA (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering or related discipline

-2 + years experience in a software developer role with full understanding of coding languages

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Candidate needs to work effectively in a development team environment and have good resource management skills to successfully work on multiple projects at one time

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of open source licensing issues Knowledge of multiple programming language and scripting environments

Experience working in Linux-based environments
