External Description:

Teradata is currently seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Lead to work within UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will need a minimum two years recent hands-on experience in building and developing data analytical solutions. The most qualified candidates will have business focused appreciation, design, development and solution delivery experience with at least one data integration product and expertise with Data Warehousing and/or Big Data Analytics.
The Technical Delivery Lead will leverage broad and deep technical knowledge designing and defining solutions which extend from interpretation of business requirements through the entire life cycle into production service, and ideally will include an appreciation of data security and cloud deployment solutions. The Technical Delivery Lead will work in conjunction with Teradata system/infrastructure architects, data management expertise, project managers and delivery technical consultants, to develop and build ecosystem solutions that include the Teradata RDBMS, Hadoop and Aster as well as third party components such as Analytic, Business Intelligence and Data Integration tools.
The Technical Delivery Lead will be required to work to best industry standards and ensure that the delivery of the solutions are pragmatic, timely and aligned to the Customer’s business objectives and security requirements. The candidate should demonstrate excellent customer facing skills and have a technical background that enables them to easily interact and give guidance to other team members, both internally and externally. The Technical Delivery Lead will demonstrate an ability to think strategically about business, product, service and technical challenges


Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with data management leads, business analysts and solution architects to articulate business priorities and demands into tangible pragmatic evolving business model and/or reference data architecture.
• Provides technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for client engagement from definition phase through implementation.
• Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients.
• Perform code reviews and mentors other team members.
• Ensure that all designs are built in accordance with Teradata best practice and standards.
• Creates and executes development plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Keep the project manager well informed of status of development effort and serve as a liaison between development staff and project manager.
• Accountable for development and test environments.
• Communicate and enforce coding standards.
• Manage technical resources within budget and project schedule.
• To deliver high-quality services to our clients.
• Work with the Teradata Project Manager to define and size any impact assessments as they relate to the technical delivery.
• Produce weekly status reports.
• Holds regular status meetings with team.
• Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.

• Deep technical experience delivering a variety of large warehouse/data analytic projects.
• Experience of the full life-cycle in a variety of software development methodologies.
• Proven leader, with experience of leading multi-discipline teams.
• In depth industry experience from one or more industries.
• Understanding/recognition of business drivers/goals underpinning warehouse implementations.

Technical Skills
• Understand data architectures and data management principles and approaches.
• Understand data analytic solutions best practices.
• Possesses demonstrated work experience with delivering one or more relational database management systems.
• Full life-cycle experience of a variety of software development methodologies.
• Expertise in at least one data integration product is required.
• Knowledge of agile approaches, tools and delivery methods is required.
• Knowledge of one or more BI/data visualisation tools is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of one or more analytical products is desirable.
• Knowledge of one or more scheduling tools is desirable.
• Familiarity with open source and devops is desirable.
