We have ann exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join one of Teradata’s Premier tier customer account teams - as an Associate Account Executive (AAE) in Teradata Government Systems. In this role, the AAE is a valued member of an already existing Account Team, led by an Executive Account Director (EAD) that’s focused on optimizing the value and successful consumption of Teradata software and services in our Health and Human Services (HHS) accounts. To be successful, you will need to be an adept communicator, capable of engaging in business conversations at multiple levels of the Government client organization. You will partner with existing Account team members, as well as some of our go-to-market partner companies, to execute specific sales strategies and tactics in support of defined customer targeted objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports account plan strategies and tactics at the direction of the HHS EAD that support building the HHS sales funnel, resulting in identifying, developing, and closing targeted new business opportunities to support attainment of annual sales quotas and goals
  • Contributes to account planning, business development, managing aspects of the selling process that ultimately close sales opportunities
  • Through client and account team collaboration, understands the clients’ key business initiatives, areas of concern, technology stack, and competitive environment. With this knowledge, recognizes how Teradata solutions apply and can articulate the value of these solutions and how they lead to positive business outcomes
  • Builds and manages relationships with business users, IT, & other customer decision makers
  • Helps coordinate targeted segments of Teradata engagement with client, while involving specialist resources when needed in the selling process
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Teradata products and solutions and how they compare to our core competitor’s offerings
  • Builds and maintains healthy working relationships with internal Teradata resources and communicates effectively with the HHS account team.
  • Management of the HHS sales funnel via the Sales Force tool.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Preferably 1-2 years of business development and/or inside sales
  • Government industry experience preferred, HHS experience is a plus
  • Experience in lead conversion, business development, converting new prospects into customers and a willingness to pursue multiple contacts in support of common sales strategy
  • Ability to excel in a team selling environment focused on client benefit and overall success of Teradata Account Team
  • Awareness of the latest advanced analytics techniques and how they apply to business decisions
  • Prior experience in information technology sales is required
  • Prior experience with Teradata solutions and technologies is a plus, but not required

Work Environment

This position has the option of telecommuting or working from the Teradata Annapolis office..  Minimal travel may be required and the candidate must be willing to relocate upon request if not already located in the MD/DC/VA area.
