What You’ll Do: 
This position is a Business Intelligence Developer working in the Teradata Global Support Organization (GSO) based in San Diego, California. The successful candidate will join a team of innovative services specialists who are responsible for the architecture and/or development of solutions improving time-to-resolution of known and unknown problems with robust tools and applications used by clients and our Teradata CS organization. As a member of the GSO Operations Team you will be working with Product Support Teams (PSTs), Service Product Management (SPMs), Teradata Labs (product Engineering), and Regional Client Services professionals in helping to improve tools and services strategies.

• Has interest/experience in tools development striving for client satisfaction 
• Can work effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing product environment 
• Is responsive to new product directions and can come up with innovative solutions 
• Has a strong grasp of system concepts related to interoperability and dependencies 
• Understands HW platform and SW integration, storage and operating systems 
• Collaborates effectively across teams, organizations, and management levels 
• Is a motivated self-starter, w/meticulous attention to detail, & high capacity for rapid learning 

Key Responsibilities: 
• Key contributor on a full scale agile development project participating in daily scrums, development sprints, demos and sprint reviews 
• Work with business units to gather report requirements making sure the implementation meets the specifications of each business segment 
• Collaborate with IT to understand the corporate client service data architecture 
• Migrate existing reports and interfaces from other platforms to PowerBI 
• Develop new data visualizations using PowerBI and Teradata SQL 
• Create interactive web applications to make use of analytical data 
• Create solutions to integrate analytical data into team member’s daily standups, such as integrating analytical data into Slack 
• Participate in proactive design of new and innovative ways of simplifying solutions

 

Basic Qualifications: 
• BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent 
• Experience collecting user requirements and ability to understand complex business needs then translate them into BI application solutions 
• Demonstrated aptitude writing complex SQL statements and an understanding of logical and physical data modeling 
• Working experience with Linux (SUSE preferred) 
• Strong programming experience using Python or PHP 
• Modern Web Development experience (preferably Flask) 
• Experience writing unit tests to test your own code 
• Experience using version control systems (such as git or SVN) 
• Excellent verbal, written and visual presentation skills 

Specific Qualifications: 
• Familiarity with an Agile framework and development rituals 
• Exposure to Jira Software 
• Experience using PowerBI to visualize data 
• Experience writing Chrome Plugins to automate tasks 
• Experience creating extendable RESTful API’s 
• Experience creating Slack applications 
• Experience with other BI vendors (Business Objects/Cognos, Tableau, Grafana, etc.) a plus 
• Salesforce development experience a plus 
• Experience with statistical methodologies and software a plus
