We are looking for a person with excellent communication skills and who has a proven track record in leading a virtual team. The Architecture team is the key consulting elements in our organization to design and deliver comprehensive Big Data architectures to support the business requirements of our customers. In this role you will be responsible to grow, develop and strengthen the teams to be best skilled in order to support our customers. As the team consists of pre-sale and post-sale Architects you must have also experience in positioning and selling Architecture Consulting Services as well as to support the delivery of these Services.

Your role is customer facing and together with the Teradata Account Team, you will support business driven use cases and drive the execution from an architecture perspective by leveraging the whole technology stack, including Open Source, Teradata and Partner products.

It is critical that you develop the underlying analytical architecture to support the current and future needs of our customers you must be a convincing innovator to be accepted by our customers as a trusted advisor.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Lead and develop the team of Architecture Experts to design, plan and execute customer PoC’s, PoV’s, pilots and projects along customer requirements, risks and expectations
Coach the team members to ensure the use of Teradata best practices and reusable assets
Develop the Analytics and Architecture practice through hiring, people development, and mentoring, as well as development of intellectual capital
Engage with Teradata Account teams to analyse and understand customer Analytics and Big Data requirements
Take a leadership role in Architecture consulting engagements and managing day-to-day client relationships and results for our key accounts
Collaborate with other teams across Teradata International
Challenge standard approaches, coming up with innovative solution design recommendations

Requirements

Team-oriented individual with excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
High degree of initiative and the ability to work independently and follow-through on assignments
Demonstrated experience in consulting and usage of best practice consulting tools and methodologies. Excellent oral and written communication skills
Hands-on experience in the design, development or support of big data implementations at a leading technology vendor or end-user computing organization
3+ years of experience leading and managing team
5+ years of experience in the Analytical Ecosystem space: Open Source, Relational databases (e.g. Oracle, DB2, Teradata), Cloud deployments, BI-Tools, ETL/ELT-Tools, Data Mining Tools, CRM
Demonstrate a keen interest in, and good understanding of, Big Data technology and the business trends that are driving the adoption of this technology
Maintain a good level of understanding about the Analytical Ecosystem marketplace
Strong understanding of data management structures, modelling techniques and data ware-housing design principles
Strong communicator
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or relevant fields
Fluent in German and English language
80% travel required throughout Germany
